Bangladeshi actress Shomi Kaiser is the daughter of martyred intellectual  Shahidullah Kaiser and writer, former parliament member Panna Kaiser. Her father Shahidullah Kaiser also a famous Bengali novelist who is widely famous for his book 'Songsoptok'. Shomi Kaiser's mother has a sister name Maya, who is a wife of former Bangladeshi President A. Q. M. Badruddoza Chowdhury. So actress Shomi Kaiser and TV program host and politician Mahi B Chowdhury are cousins. Famous Bangladeshi professor and the chairman of  '71 er Ghatok Dalal Nirmul Comitee'  Sharier Kabir is the uncle of Shomi Kaiser.

Shomi Kaiser was born in 15 January 1969. Her father is  martyred intellectual who was disappeared on 14 December 1971 by Pakistani Army like other intellectuals.

Bangladeshi actress Shomi Kaiser never thought to be an actress, her desire was to gain high study in architecture. In 1989 famous Bangladeshi television drama director Atiqullah Khan Masud was looking for a new face who are friendly with native Noakhali dialect. He offered to Shomi Kaiser to perform in his drama 'Keba Apon Keba Por'. Shomi accepted the offer and came to the industry for the first time. It is the turning point in the Shomi Kaiser life. After that she acted in the three episode drama (Khondo Natok) 'Joto Dure Jai' with co-actor Asaduzzaman Noor, Tarana halim, Ferdousi Mozumdar, Ramendu Mojumdar, Touqir Ahmed. The drama made based on another Bangladeshi novel writer Emdadul Haque's novel and directed by Abdullah Al Mamun.

Bangladeshi TV actress Shomi Kaiser successfully performed on behalf of Dhaka Theatre for near about 12 years. She also acted in Bengali alternative film like Lalon (2004) and Hason Raja.

Shomi Kaiser also owner of a famous production house name 'Dhanshiri' and she already started a private Radia Channel called 'Radia Active'. In 1999 Bangladeshi actress Shomi Kaiser married to an Indian citizen whose name is 'Aornob Banerjee Ringo'. He was a business man and drama director also. But the sad news is that Shomi and Ringo has broken their marriage after two years of their marriage. On 24 July 2008 Bangladeshi talented actress Shomi Kaiser married to 'Mohammad A Arafat' who is a lecturer of the Independent University and also a popular TV talk show personality.
